Otto’s favorite toy car! I am so glad that it is now in the good hands of someone who loves it and I can get to see the beautiful pictures!
Dear Chea’s, Ping-pong was fun. You have to come back again soon. I am starting to compile the next ten house projects for Bo. Thanks for celebrating Otto’s & my anniversary! Happy Anniversary to you both! Tell Caden I said 好。 :)
Pound it like a fist bump. I am so thankful for your visit and so much work got done around the house. Alison said she wants to go to the girls’ restaurant where there is no charge, and only hand shakes are enough. Love you al!
I am grateful to have Otto as my uncle. He was the true definition of a kind hearted person. Otto always made everyone feel important because he would drive all the way to New York to celebrate family member’s birthdays and achievements. My grandma would often tell me about how much she missed Otto because he was so nice and kind. Otto would take my grandma traveling around the world and even drove many hours to New York to pick her up instead of just buying her a plane or bus ticket so that she can visit Virginia to spend time with him, Aunt Kam and Alison.

I still can't believe it's been a year already! My husband and I still remember Otto with lots of love, especially whenever we eat something that we think he would have enjoyed to eat! We would have loved to spend more time with him, but we are happy to know that he is in a better place now.
That's Otto for you, always ready to celebrate and celebrating others before himself. He was always selfless, kind, and genuine in the way he made his decisions and in his life and for that it is a privilege for all those that he touched.
One day there will be no more life taken too soon... One day every tear that falls will be wiped by His hands...There will be healing. Hallelujah....From this heart break we’ve been feeling...Hallelujah....One day when our tired and weary bones find their rest...We will see the Promised Land...

Happy Father’s Day Otto! Thank you for being one of the nicest, best human beings we ever gotten to know. You had inspired, encouraged, and help many many people with your kindness and the way you treat everyone were admirable. You only want what’s best for everyone. Your happiness comes from making others happy, you are truly one of a kind. Everyone who knows Otto has a special Otto’s story, and here is one of mine: Otto and Kam were the first family members I spoke to when I signed up for my first marathon, they were just as excited as I was, it was a very special moment. 7 months later, I remember driving over to their house with Sallie and the kids the Friday before the race, going to the expo and having dinner together that Saturday night, then at 4am, yes, 4am on Sunday, Otto drove me to the starting line, he wished me luck, told me to take my time and enjoy the race right before I got off the car. A few hours later, I had completed my first marathon with Otto, Kam, Sallie and the kids at the finish line waiting for me. I am truly thankful to have them there to share that special accomplishment with me, it is something I will cherish forever. What is special about Otto is he doesn’t just do things because he has to or think about what he will get in return, he does things because he wants to, because he cares about how he can make the other person better. Thank you for all that you done Otto!! Thank you Aunt Kam and Alison, I will continue to share my Otto’s stories with Jayden and Sophie
Oftentimes this past year I think of Uncle Otto, my aunt Kam and Alison. I just hope that as each day passes you will get stronger and remember the many happy memories. Some of the pictures that I’ve found of Otto shows what a fun guy he was. I miss him much. Happy Father’s Day.
Father’s Day 2018. It was so fun exploring and walking around the Kenmore area together. We joked that we were really celebrating Mother’s Day because Mom ordered the fancy lobster haha. Daddy always cared for us very much ❤️
We went for the Guatemala Dental Mission Trip in July 2017 because I mentioned during Bible Study that I hope to go for a mission trip in a poor country at least once in my lifetime. I said time may run out soon, referring to my own little health issue. That summer he helped me fulfill my dream. It ended up this is the one mission trip in a poor country in his life time! It was a meaningful trip! I did not think Alison would want to go with us as she would just start the internship at NG. Out of my surprise she said she will ask for the time off as soon as we asked her. Thank God for allowing it to happen! It was a wonderful graduation gift for Alison too.
Kam and Allison - I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the time I had to get to know Otto and walk with him in this life. He was always so encouraging, genuinely interested in how I was and my family, openly sharing his struggles while also encouraging me in mine. I was blessed to have known him and am a better man for it. I pray the Lord's comfort to you on the anniversary of his passing. In Christ, Dave
On this one year anniversary, I remember the gentle, humble man who loved his Savior and his family above all else. I love this verse that reminds us that when Otto left this earth He awoke in the presence of Jesus and now Otto is "satisfied." He is without pain and is completely healed.
Kam and Alison, I pray that you are comforted with this knowledge and the knowledge that you will see Otto again in heaven. May the sweet memories of your life spent together bring you joy, and may you fully experience the comfort of God on this one year anniversary. 2 Corinthians 1:3
Uncle Otto, thank you for always going the extra miles to unite our big family. You were always so selfless and made sure everyone was well taken care of. Your countless road trips to NYC to visit the family for various celebrations and birthday parties will be missed. The girls and I had a lot of great memories in the OKAY residence over the years. The girls and I have been praying for you, aunt Kam and Alison each night before we go to bed. You will forever be in our hearts.
Love, TWCC Family

A son who had always wished his parents lived close by, who wanted very much to take good cares of them, who never forgot to mail a card with a gift or visit the cemetery or burn a memory candle at home for Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays or date of pass away...
He was so glad that my mom got to attend Alison’s graduation even though he could’t take her there by himself. He was a caring son-in-law who took my mom to different trips even though he had to go out of his way to find arrangements to get my mom all the way from NY, who advised about what to do when big extended family has conflicts just like any large family with different personalities...
One of my 3 favorite nieces volunteered to drive her grandma, my mom, and her mom to attend the graduation ceremony. Alison said, “Cousin Angela was absolutely instrumental in the planning and travel for this trip, thank you!”
He had been more than a dreamed Mr. Right to Kam. In addition to the Mr. Right who had a decent height, somewhat funny but not goofy, someone who liked to have fun, he was
-a Godly leader of our family who prayed with Kam everyday in the morning, at night and at every meal, who had devotional time with the family every night, who made sure the top priority of our daughter was to go to the Youth Group events and meetings, who encouraged her to keep up with her the relationship with God in College,
-a wonderful husband who planned well in details before taken any actions, who came up with fun activities locally or vacations that required travel, who made sure Kam did not get in troubles with overreaction or absentmindedness...
A great father who would not let our only daughter got out of her way when she tried to cover up by not telling the whole truth about what happened, who brought her to the piano, Chinese school, ice skating, swimming, etc, lessons tirelessly week after week and waited patiently, who watched and discussed football and basketball games with her, who brought her to the Indy Car races, Monster truck shows and Air shows, who helped resolved unavoidable life issues and always reminded her to think positively and don’t overreact, who rented a RV to camp out for her Hokies graduation celebration, who tried all he could to go to her Master Degree graduation, but did not at the end because he did not want to put any of us at risk when he was pretty sick. Thank God that we were able to watch the whole ceremony on line in the comfort of home and face time with family who attended...
During his college years at RPI at Troy, NY, he got to know a group of friends of 14, which they called themselves the “Plum Flower Group-桃花會”. The group name was a changed version of a group in a famous Chinese novel (by 金庸)called “Red Flower Group-紅花會”. The name was changed because they thought one of his best friends, Edmond Wong, who was the oldest in the group had eyes like plum flowers. He had a lot of fond memories during his undergraduate college years and had always shared funny stories with Kam and Alison.
A loving brother and uncle who cared about his sister, brother-in-law and niece very much. He would cook many delicious dishes whenever his sister’s family came to our house for meals. He never missed a single birthday of us. He made sure Grace got cakes or desserts...
Alison and Jingwen at the airport waiting to fly to Toronto. Otto always encourages Alison to have a work life balance and a community of friends. He was, is and will always be a wonderful father to our daughter.
