On this Father's Day, I remember Otto as a caring father and husband to his family. He frequently invited friends to their home for dinner or to play table tennis. On the weekends, it was always good playing tennis with him because of his good sportsmanship and humor. After the games, I enjoyed the easy conversations about how our families were doing and talking about whatever was on our minds that day. Otto, I look forward to talking with you again someday in our heavenly home!
I always remember Otto and cannot forget him for June 21 is my birthday.
It’s already been a year and I still can’t believe you’re really gone. You are missed more and more every day . All the good times our families spent together will be in our memories.
Otto
My friend Otto has made heaven a happier place!
Otto was a naturally joyful man and a very good man. He laughed easily and loved his family dearly. He adored Kam and his daughter, Alison. He was so very proud of Alison.
I knew Otto and his family for many years, as they live in our neighborhood and our daughters were good friends (they also overlapped at a couple of schools). Whenever the weather was reasonably good, Otto and Kam would walk in our neighborhood, always hand in hand. They would often stop by my house to chat. I always welcomed those impromptu encounters, as they were always full of joy and hearty laughter.
I will always have fond memories of Otto. I am also confident that his faith, love and joyful nature will continue to inspire his family as well as many others.
With Respect and Love,
Alex and Family
Time really flies. I can’t believe it will be a year this Sunday. Our families spent so much time together when our daughters are young. We had bible study on Fridays. We biked and played ball games after Chinese School on Sundays. We barbecued on Memorial Days; watched fireworks on July 4th; cruised in summer; hiked in fall; skied in winter. We spent a lot time in Burke Lake, New Life Bible Camp, Seven Springs and each other’s houses. He was always energetic and enthusiastic no matter what kind of activities we were doing. I remember his red face sweating with a big smile when he was cooking at the grill. I recall he patrolled and made sure everyone was safe on the ski trail. The image of he fell into the water from the Jet-ski when we were at Myrtle Beach still in my memory. He will always be remembered. And we will meet again in heaven.
Dear Otto, I still remember the first time we met, which was at the men’s Bible study led by Paul Graham. It was my first year at CBC and your warm presence provided a genuine welcome. Please know that you will always be in my heart as a warm and welcoming soul. God bless, John Tai
Dear brother Otto, I still remember that we shared same dorm during Men’s Retreat a few years ago. You impressed me with your kindness and gentleness. You always greeted people nicely and willing to lend a hand when they need any help (same as Kam always does. What a lovely couple you are!) Knowing that Lihong’s niece was attending the same college Alyson just graduated from, you did not hesitate to tell us about the easy way of commute between college and home for VT students. Thanks for all the smiles that lighted us up. We miss you, brother! Our prayer is always with your family!
One year later we still remember and miss you dearly! May Lord have mercy and bring comfort to your family members!
Otto is a true gentleman. He is always caring people around him, gracious in manner, humble in tone and thankful for what is given.
Otto is a true leader. In our church tennis circle, he is always the person who gather us together for a Sunday afternoon tennis play. He coordinates a time good for everyone, informs us the weather, finds us an open court.
Otto is a fun person, optimistic, always has smile on his face. People just want to be around him.
Otto, you will be sorely missed from your friends.
Otto was one of the kindest and caring persons we have known. When our children were small, we had countless fond memories of the activities we shared together which included skiing, hiking, camping and retreats. He surely lived out what it means to be a follower of Christ and will always be in our hearts and minds. God rest you in peace. Our sincere condolences to the bereaved family.

“A good heart has stopped beating; a good soul ascended to heaven.”
When Otto sent an encouraging message to another cancer patient in early Jun, saying “Let us walk thru the journey together with heart and strength”, we had strong faith that he was ready to fight this battle. Amazing how a person – especially in his condition – can still be able to provide positive energy to others.
Even no longer physically present on earth, we know that Otto is watching over his family and friends who remember his wonderful and gentle soul. He remains in our image as one of the “old cakes” of our “Peach Blossom Club”. After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have is happy memories.
Our most sincere condolences sent with love and remembrance,
Thomas & Cherona
My heartfelt condolences to Kam and Alison for your loss as we grieve with you. We also rejoice that Otto is in our Father's most beautiful heavenly kingdom. Thank you throughout Otto's illness for encouraging all of us with your strong testimony of your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Otto always exuded the joy and light that only comes from faith in Christ. He is sorely missed here among us while he is welcomed by the angels above us with joy.
Sorry to hear the great loss! We have been friends with Otto and his family for many years. We deeply missed his voice, his genuine smiles and laughters. No words can explain how sad we were when we heard about the sad news. We remembered our good times with his family during CBC home group fellowships, church retreats, ski and hiking trips etc. Otto was a great friend to our family and we missed him. Our prayers are with Kam and her family during this difficult time.
I was so shocked and sad to hear that Otto went with the Lord last Friday on 6/21/19. Otto was a sweet and a caring person; He always had a smile on his face. I remember he was so good playing with the preschool kids in Sunday class when he was subbing for Kam in 2017. And whenever I need to find a sub for the preschool class, he always stepped in to help. My heart and prayer are with Kam, Alison and the family. May our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief. Otto is in a better place now without pain and suffering. Otto, you will truly be missed and will not be forgotten.
I will miss a long time friend, tennis partner, and brother in Christ. Thank you for all the times we shared and your heart of caring for others.
My deepest condolences to Kam and Alison.
In our family's prayers.
