Obituary of Anne H. Kasper
Anne Helen Kasper passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Reston Hospital in Reston, VA and is survived by her two sons, Peter Karl Kasper of Herndon, Virginia and Lawrence Thomas Kasper (Elizabeth) of Orlando, Florida; nieces Cynthia and Patti Hreha of Indiana; six Grandchildren, Scott Kasper (Cheryl) of Leesburg, Virginia, Kennard “Chip” (Laura), Anthony “Tony” (Ginger) and Stacia Kasper of Florida; Dawn Kasper of Kingston, New York and Amanda Kasper-Madison (Daniel) of Griffith, Indiana; ten great Grandchildren Brennan, Avery, Zachary, Kasey, Kelly, Cody, Sasha, Andrea, Gracie, and Haley.
Anne’s father John Hreha immigrated to the United States from Slovakia, found work, sent a letter requesting a wife and married Anne’s mother Anna Buthkouski through an arranged marriage.
Preceded in death by Anne’s husband of over sixty years Peter Paul Kasper, her youngest son James Edward Kasper and brothers Edward and John Hreha, Anne was raised in Indiana Harbor, Indiana. Anne and her husband lived for many years in East Chicago, Indiana where together they raised their three sons. She worked as a seamstress and served as a teacher's aide for The Immaculate Conception Parish in East Chicago, Indiana for many years. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Women’s Club #1700, formally attended St. Stanislaus Parish in East Chicago, Indiana, St Mary Catholic Church in Griffith, Indiana and St John Neumann Church in Reston, Virginia.
After her husband Peter passed away in 1995 Anne moved to Griffith, Indiana where she lived with her youngest son Jimmy, daughter-in-law Wilma, and granddaughter Amanda. In 2012 Anne moved to Herndon, Virginia where she lived with her son Peter and his wife Jane. Anne was a kind, gentle, beautiful soul filled with love and light. She had a charming sense of humor, enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking delicious food, and was always telling incredible stories. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
There will be two services; the first will be held in Virginia (details stated below) and the second will be in Griffith, Indiana. Please note more details for the second service will be posted as soon as arrangements are confirmed.
