Obituary of Evelyn J. Lehrke

Mrs. Evelyn Jeanette Lehrke was born on February 13, 1927 in Rochelle, Illinois. She was the third daughter of Jacob and Emma (Hansen) Foss. On September 18, 1954 she married Harold F. Lehrke in the Rochelle Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by the DeKalb Ogle Telephone Company in Rochelle, Illinois. In 1970 she moved from Illinois to Alexandria, Virginia. Later she worked for the Orange Blossom Diamond Company in Virginia. She raised two sons in Alexandria, and was a wonderful grandmother to her two grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 57 years Harold F. Lehrke; her two sons David Lehrke of Alexandria, VA and Steve (Susan) Lehrke of Herndon, VA; and two grandchildren Ryan and Shannon Lehrke also of Herndon, VA. She is also survived by her two sisters Lola Marsden of Rockford, IL and Dorothy Finkboner of Rochelle, IL. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. A viewing will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 1-4 PM . The funeral will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
