Steve was a great guy to work with. During a tour in Turkey we shared an apartment. He always made everyone feel important and welcome. We ran the HHH a few times. Those were some fun days I won't forget. One thing that crosses my mind occasionally and always makes me smile. The Turkish Commander that shared the station with us would ask me "Where is the Crouse?". Cheers!

Steve was one of my best friends in high school. We lost track of each other and I always thought that we would get back together again. He was a wonderful friend with a great personality. I know that he will be missed by his loved ones.

Working with Steve on the Foreign Comparative Testing program as one of the US Army reps, was a professional honor and a genuine pleasure. When one of us made a honest mistake, and caught by the other, it stayed between us, and became the brunt of humor. Fat fingers, and accusations of losing one's mind caused many really good belly laughs between us. A skilled wink, the nod of shared professional acknowledgement and the problem would be fixed properly and accurately, and then off to the next mission. Respect, professional competence and a true sense of genuine humor were Steve's hallmark. The world is a lesser place today without Steve, and we were honored and blessed to have known him. He was truly a blessing in our lives and I will sincerely miss him. My condolences.

Robyn, I send my most sincerest condolences to you and your family. Steve spoke so highly of you and Brittany, the two Gemstones of his life. Steve was my Manager and mentor at the Foreign Comparative Technology office, but little did he know I also viewed him as my work Dad. He was such thoughtful, brilliant, and down to earth person with a personality out of this world. I am so grateful to have met him and I will forever apply and cherish his teachings and memory as I continue on within this industry, he will be missed dearly.

My condolences, I worked with Steve on the Foreign Comparative Test program and he was always upbeat and a model professional and just a nice guy. We will miss him at NAVAIR, but his efforts have greatly helped our men and women serving by making what they do easier, safer and modernizing the tools that they use.

I'm stunned and deeply saddened by Steve's passing. He was one of my first direct-reports when I joined the AFTAC world in the "O" terminal at HQ. His energy, humor, and zest for life was infectious....you couldn't help but have a good time with Steve around. We've lost a great man. My deepest condolences to family, friends, and everyone who knew him. Steve, my friend and patriot, you may be gone, but will never, ever be forgotten. Until we see you again....Rest Well.

Dear Robyn and Brittany,
Please accept my sincerest sympathy on your loss. Steve and I first met while we were in the Air Force and I can still remember how highly he was regarded by those around him. As I started to work with him closer at ANSER I got a better understanding of how his professionalism, sense of humor, and enthusiasm were characteristics that made him stand out among others.
I couldn't have asked for a better supervisor and he will be sorely missed. I wish you strength and inspiration during this difficult time.
Sincerely, Bob Ruzzier

My impression of Steve was he was one of those very rare souls that could make everyone around him feel better, no matter the challenge you were facing. Whenever I was having a tough day, I’d always find a way to swing by Steve’s office, or jump into a conversation he was having with others. Just thinking about him brings a smile to my face. God Bless you Steve, and may God Bless your family.

Deanna and I could not have dreamed Steve up for Robyn and Brittany. He was the perfect mix of a fun loving affable guy and a brilliant and solid worldly man. He loved and guided them to a safe and happy life.We never worried about them again once Steve made them his family. He was also a steadfast friend who made every occasion just more fun .
We will always remember him with a smile on our lips and a tear in our eye.
Go with God my friend. If we can't have you here, only He deserves you.

To know Steve was to love him. Eighteen years ago he took my granddaughter, Brittany, under his wings to raise her, help educate her and make her into a loving wonderful person. To be with him was always a happy time. His loving care of Robin and his successful career were landmarks of the type of person he was. Cher and I regret that we did not have more time with him. We are deeply saddened and will always be there to support Robin and Brittany. Love to all, Sonny & Cher

I am absolutely heartbroken for Steve's passing. Steve, you were not only an awesome guy but a never wavering friend. Brother, you will forever hold a place in my heart...where you will always live and never be forgotten.❤ You were a precious gift from God to all of us. I thank God he blessed and graced my life with you.
Robyn and Brittany, my heart aches for you. I am so sorry. Robyn, you were Steve's precious treasure, blessing and gift from God. You are one of the most beautiful, most caring, sweetest and incredible women I have ever known. You and Steve were truly a match made in Heaven.
Much to my deep sadness, I haven't seen you guys since I left NVA in 2011, due to living in four different states, including Alaska for three years. But my enduring love for you and Steve has never diminished. With tears and a very heavy heart...my love, thoughts and prayers. God bless and comfort you, Brittany and the family as only he can. ❤ Hutch
