Obituary of Barbara Ann Shepherd

Barbara Ann Saunders Shepherd, 75, died of natural causes on the 16^th of January 2019 at her home in Herndon, Virginia. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, the 26^th of January 2019 at 1:00pm at the Welcome Grove Baptist Church, 7368 Newland Road, Warsaw, Virginia followed by interment at the church with Reverend Willard Bowen officiating.

Barbara Ann was born into this world by her loving parents Ora and William Arnold Saunders on the 7^th of March 1943 in her hometown of Warsaw, Virginia. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Ora and William Arnold Saunders, step mother Mary Saunders and brother Talbert Saunders. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Renee Shepherd; son Mark Shepherd and his wife Amy Shepherd; grandchildren Samantha Branning and Andrew Monnett; great grandson Kaleo Branning.

Barbara exemplified a positive, spirited personality who shared her thoughts with care and candor. She was very thoughtful, always checking in on those she loved, and she always went the extra mile to put a smile on their faces. Barbara had an appreciation for beautiful things that was demonstrated by her love of music, art and creative projects. She was a fantastic hostess and cook, along with a keen eye for fashion.

The family would like to express our gratitude for the care given to our mother in her time of need by the Reston Hospital.
