Obituary of Jose D. Carbajal

Jose Del Carmen Carbajal, 72, died on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Warrenton, Virginia following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Peru in 1946, Jose met Carmen Rosa Cueto in Lima, and the two were married in Barranco in 1977. The Carbajal family moved to Virginia in 1988. Together, Jose and Carmen worked hard to establish a new life in the United States. The couple was successful in providing opportunities for their children that they never had themselves. Though not without great sacrifice, their children have the lives today that the couple only dreamed about in 1977. 

Jose was an honest and hardworking man, sometimes working as many as three jobs to provide a better life for his family. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. Loved ones will remember Jose for his sense of humor, his caring nature, and his ability to put a smile on anyone’s face.

Jose is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carmen, their children Joe (Cassandra) and Lisette (Graham), granddaughters Erica and Rosalie, and many loving family members and close friends in Peru.

A celebration of life will take place on Friday, February 8th at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 46833 Harry Byrd Hwy, Sterling VA 20164. Visitation will take place at 4:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 5:00 p.m., and concluded with a reception at 6:00 p.m.
