Aunt Gail, Bruce, Rosemary, and all of Uncle Bob's family and friends, I am deeply sorry for Uncle Bob's passing. Eighty-one years does not seem nearly long enough for a man of Uncle Bob's vitality and accomplishments. I will miss his ready smile, wisdom, and encouragement. I will miss how he shared with me a few jaw-dropping stories simply because, I felt, he wanted to honor my humble military service. And I will NEVER forget him flying that HH-52A in to Grandad's farm in Kearneysville... dropping the message on a little slate chalkboard from a hover before returning later to land...was to my child's eyes an event more exciting than the arrival of Santa Claus! One of my lifelong heroes.

Bob was a good friend and energetic aviator, craftsman and author. He will be greatly missed by the Coast Guard Aviation community, for whom he dedicated a huge amount of time in preserving Coast Guard Aviation history.

Bob will be missed. He was a consummate Coast Guard aviator/pilot, who rescued many. I had the privilege of working with him as the PTreasurer of the Coast Guard Aviation Association/Pteros, to get his book, "Float Planes & Flying Boats", published by the U. S. Naval Institute. And, also displaying a few of his very accurate Coast Guard aircraft for the "Into the Blue" exhibit, at the Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC.
A professional in every sense of the word.
My sympathies to Bob's family.
