Obituary of Nancy Pellegrino

Nancy Pellegrino, 70, of Reston, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Reston Hospital Center surrounded by her family.

Born on January 15, 1949 in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy she was the daughter of the late Ferrucio Palma and the late Assunta Palma.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Lino Palma, Anthony Palma, Salvatore Palma and sisters Carmen Sessa and Josephine Palma.

Nancy came to the United States at the age of 13, and settled in Brooklyn, NY.  There she married Thomas and raised their three children.  She worked many jobs over the years but was most proud of her work as a real estate agent in the 80’s and as a caregiver for the state in the 90’s.  Nancy was an immaculate cook who loved spending time making the dishes her mother had taught her. She enjoyed knitting and crafts and for a while created and sold decorative baskets.  In 2001 she had a house built and moved to Port Charlotte, FL.  In 2010 she retired to Reston, VA, but made yearly trips back to Florida to visit her grandchildren and sons.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years Thomas Pellegrino; her three sons Frank Pellegrino of Reston, VA, Joseph (Sarah) Pellegrino of North Port, FL and Anthony (Lisa) Pellegrino of Port Charlotte, FL; her two grandchildren Ava and Kameron, whom she loved dearly; sister Elisa Avallone of New York and brothers Luigi Palma of Naples, Italy, Eddie Palma of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Adams Green Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
