John, know how close you were to family, and so happy that your sister, Jackie was able to visit with you in the final days. Remember you and your parents with fondness. Know the struggle fighting Parkinson’s was very arduous, and the peace of laying the battle down forever. John was a dashing young military officer when I met him at Beale AFB in California. John got me when I was a young shy woman and guided me and let me grow more and become "me" over the years. He was my true love for 49 years and it was like something out of a fairy tale. He made me feel safe, loved and like his princess. John was so humorous and so smart. I was attracted to him more and more while we were together. He couldn't keep his hands off me and we had to be together when he got assigned a remote tour to Miyako Jima. I joined him there and stayed in nearby in Okinawa. We flew back and forth every 18 days joining one another. It was so romantic and John was my life and savior as we shared wonderful experiences all around the world.

This is a picture of John and I at the airport in Miyako Jima with his men and the civilian engineer along with his Japanese wife who had become a friend of mine while we were there in Miyako. She once made us Sukiyaki one night for dinner. They tried to sack John before he left and we flew to Okinawa to take planes out of Naja and Kadena. I flew commercial so hopefully we wouldn't get in trouble for me being there on a remote tour with John. I was the only American woman there on the island. We flew to San Diego to meet together again and be with my sister. It was a great experience.

John gave Parkinson's a run for its money. I knew John for almost 40 years as a fellow worker and carpooler, and, of course as a friend. He was a kind and gentle person who loved a good laugh. May God watch over him and Dolores.

My memories of John in building 213 was that he was the tall quiet guy that made you smile. I did not know that Mr. Butler was the proud husband of Delores Butler, until friends kept telling me, you know John. Quiet guy, tall, but very nice. Working with Nancy Mays, and Gloria Maynor on the CM part of the house with Hughes Aircraft, I got to know faces and not names. Attending Delores' surprise birthday party, that John surprised Delores with, I decided to bring with me a girlfriend that was on the Network Side of the house. I then recalled his face and Wow!! What a reunion! Venita Graves started name dropping while talking with John about the old days at NPIC, and that was how Delores party became their party. :) My condolences for the loss of your husband and best friend, Delores. He was such an amazing and loving person. RIParadise John, now there's no more pain, and you are flying high with the eagles. You will be missed.

My sweet brother was always my protector. I will miss him so much but have 73 years of him as my brother from which I draw many loving memories. He was my hero when I was a little girl and he was just a great friend thoughout our lives. Rest in peace and joy dear John.

John was my beloved husband of 49 years. We met at a.party and he took me home and asked me home the next day. We did a lot if outdoir sports. I caref gor john.more and more as we dated. He was smart. Humorous and interesting. He knew so much. John.went to okinawa fir 4 mos and cane back after we wrote letters constantly.ehile awsy. So beautiful. We fell in love right awsy. We dated and realixed there was ekectricity between us..he asked me to marry him.while warching.barberella. in a drive in movie. Ee knew one anothef a tital of 7 mos and couldnt keep our hands off each other. The wedding was quick like snow white and the seven dwarfs. Men in military mess uniforms and women in red satin and mine in beautiful white satin with silver embroidered roses from.japsn. we all made our own dresses. Went to Hawaii on our honrymoon by c141.. eventually ended up.on.a remote tour tigether.and thats snother story. Our whole marriage has been. I love john akways. So funny and sweet. I am missing him a lot my love.
