Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Peterson

Jean (Jeanie) Elizabeth Peterson, of Potomac Falls Virginia, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Monday, April 1, 2019. She was born on January 8, 1935 in Oak Park, Illinois to Julius and Mildred Gregorius. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leavitt A. Peterson, daughter, Connie E. Williams and her brother-in-law Ivar Johnson. She is survived by her children, Kimberly J. Kennedy (Jimmy), Lyndee L. Bonner (Tom), Jay R. Peterson, Jon C. Peterson (Tracy) and son-in-law, Robb Williams. In addition, she has 14 grandchildren, Justin Bonner, Megan Keller (Jon), Kyle Kennedy, Matthew Bonner, Nicolle Bonner, Ian Peterson, Morgan Peterson, Kellyn Peterson, Hayley Peterson, Chase Peterson, Macy Peterson, Coco Peterson, Ryan Williams, Josie Peterson, and one great-granddaughter Charlotte Elizabeth Keller.

She is further survived by her dear brothers-in-law, Rev. Ronnie Peterson, James Peterson and her cherished sisters-in-law, Ione Peterson, Marcella Johnson, and Donna Peterson and numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews.

A retired nurse, Jean had a passion for caring for others.  She loved God, her big family and numerous loving friends and her caring church. She was a talented artist and loved life and was well loved. She loved laughing and having fun with people. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved traveling with her family and enjoyed many wonderful family trips to Ely Minnesota.

Jean will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Galilee Methodist Church, Sterling VA or Capital Caring Hospice, Aldie Virginia.
