What a lovely woman Easter was. I bought all of my daughters ballet shoes in Mrs. Hanes store and alway appreciated the time and kindness she gave her and all the customers who came in. My 5 year old granddaughter has been in ballet for 2 years and my daughter has purchased her shoes from Mrs. Hanes as well. She will be truly missed.

I’m so sorry for your recent loss. My deepest condolences to your family. Death of a loved one is never easy to endure, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Continue looking to God and you will always find comfort in him (2 Cor 1:3,4). He will soon destroy the enemy of death (1 Cor 15:26), and He will soon return our loved ones to us through the resurrection (John 5:28,29). Please visit JW.org and search “When Someone You Love Dies”, it helped me through some difficult times and I hope you can find comfort in it also.

To Esther's family and friends,
I was sad to hear of Esther's passing. I only knew her through the Cinnamon Tree, where she fitted my daughter for her first pair of pointe shoes and other dance accessories. She was always kind, gracious and beautiful. She had a huge impact in the dance community and I wish her loved ones peace and comfort in their beautiful memories of Esther.
With sincere condolences,
Kelli Kolling

G and Chad - I was so sad to learn of your mom’s passing. As I reflect back to my teenage years, i can’t help but to think about the many, many fond memories and fun times spent together with the three of you. Esther was like a second mom to me, always so loving and kind and willing to open her home to me. Her love of life, golf, and friends will forever be part of my memory. God bless you all.

Esther was like a second mother to me. G and Chad were my best friends growing up on Grant Street. It would be impossible to count the number of PB&J’s made or freezer-pops given while I was at their house. Being three boys growing up in the 70’s, we got into our fair share of trouble but I have no memory of Esther ever being angry. She was always laughing. She had a very real fear of snakes. We, of course, never missed an opportunity to scare her with the fake rubber variety. She would scream and run, and we would laugh, but she was never angry with us. She would end up laughing too. When I got into a fight with Ronnie Church in her front yard where Ronnie, admittedly, got the better of me, she broke us up and later told my dad that it was me who had won the fight. After a particularly bad bike crash near the Crocker’s house when I was 14, it was Esther who drove me to Urgent Care and took care of me until my parents arrived.
I found out Esther had cancer probably around a year ago, and that it was bad. We went to visit her at her house a few months ago. I was worried about seeing her so sick, but surprisingly found the same wonderful lady from my memory. She was so funny and laughed so much. She was, of course, dressed better than all of us. Her hair, makeup and nails were perfect. It was so great to see her, give her a hug and share old stories. I’m sure she did not feel at all well, but she didn’t want us to see that.
She was a great lady and I will miss her very much.

My heart toes out to G and Chad on the loss of their dear mother Esther. Esther was a beautiful and charming lady who leaves this life with many legacies, the most important and lasting of which are the two fine sons the nurtured and raised. I will remember Esther as a beloved friend, next door neighbor and mother of my two cousins.
