Obituary of Jean Frances DiPaola

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  Jean is survived by her loving husband of fifty years Anthony DiPaola, her four children Anthony E. (Maria Luisa) DiPaola, Linda (Jesús) Esquivel, Andrea (Matthew) Cordova and Andrew (Lauren) DiPaola, 9 grandchildren, and twin sister Jane Baker Apollony.  Daughter of the late William Edward Fee, Jr. and Marie Louise Fee and sister of the late Marie Louise Young.

 

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Jean attended St. Thomas the Apostle and Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School (Class of 1961).  She graduated from Georgetown University School of Nursing (Class of 1965) and obtained a Masters in Pediatric Nursing from University of Wisconsin School of Nursing.  She worked as a registered nurse and retired to care for her family.

 

A longtime resident of Vienna, VA, Jean was a devout Catholic and an active member of Opus Dei.  She was a parishioner of St. Mark (Vienna) for over 30 years, serving in numerous volunteer roles at St. Mark including co-founder of the Marian Society, eucharistic minister, and member of the pastoral council.  She loved traveling the world, entertaining friends, and spending time with and cooking for her large family.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 16th from 4pm to 7pm at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Road, Vienna, VA 22181.  The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 17th at 11:30am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Road, Vienna, VA 22181. A rosary in her honor will begin at 11:10am.  Interment will immediately follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 831 Dranesville Road, Herndon, VA 20170.  Reception will follow interment at Westwood Country Club 800 Maple Avenue E., Vienna, VA 22180

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jean DiPaola to Oakcrest School (tuition assistance), 1619 Crowell Road, Vienna, VA 22182 or to the Missionaries of Charity, 2800 Otis Street NE, Washington, D.C. 20018.
