Obituary of Patrick Dawson Wickline

Patrick Dawson Wickline, 41, of Herndon, Virginia, went home to the Lord on Good Friday April 19, 2019.

A memorial service will be held at Reston Bible Church on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1 p.m., with Pastor Jim Supp officiating. A  memorial visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, in Herndon, on Thursday, April 25, 2019, between 5-7 p.m.

Patrick was born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 11, 1977. He attended St. Francis DeSales High School, where he played varsity football and graduated in 1995. He went on to earn a degree in Pre-Med Biology from Ohio University (where he met his wife) and, not wanting to waste that major or add another year of college, he parlayed his summer work experience and collegiate studies into a certification in Landscape Design from George Washington University. He subsequently worked as vice president for Maryland’s "As You Like It Landscaping" for the last several years.

Patrick enjoyed life and related to every person he met. He was a longstanding coach and volunteer for numerous organizations, including Herndon Reston Youth Baseball, Reston Little League, Armstrong Elementary School, and Reston Bible Church. He loved the Washington Nationals, Buckeye football, smoking meat, baking amazing birthday cakes, and relaxing around the fire pit with family and friends.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Graham) Wickline, his sons Noah (11), Brady (9), and Jonathan (6); his mother Carla Wickline-Shorts; his father Robert Wickline (Dorothy); his brothers Timothy (Cassie) and Christopher (Shawna); nephew Max; his in-laws Fred and Carol Graham; sister-and-brother-in-law Katie and Tony Bapple; nieces Taylor and Noel; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dale Shorts.

A memorial service in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio will be scheduled at a later date.
