Obituary of Sharon Rae Boisvert

22nd of April, 2019 Sharon Rae Boisvert surrounded by her family and loved ones, went to be with the Lord after a long and tiring battle with cancer.

Sharon was born May 23, 1949 in Biddeford, Maine as the oldest of 5 kids and only daughter to Raymond and Florence Boisvert.  She graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School. Sharon had a great desire to travel and continue her education.  She bought a classic 67 Mustang and headed to Hartford Connecticut where she briefly attended college. After her short stint in Connecticut she continued to fulfill her dreams to live in the big city of New York. While living and enjoying New York City  she met Bart Hymanson and married in 1977. They soon travelled to Hollywood, FL to learn the business of carpet care and installation. Once mastering the business, they settled in Northern Va. After several years of building a very successful carpet business, they  started a family giving birth to their only daughter, Alyshia Brooke (Hymanson)Linares. The couple divorced and Sharon began a 35 year career spanning across multiple industries in the fields of recruiting and sales.

Sharon missed the smell of the Maine ocean and lobster and decided to move back to Old Orchard Beach, and later Portland Maine with her daughter. After realizing Maine was a tough job market and the long winters were not as attractive as she remembered, they returned to Reston, Va. where she lived the rest of her life as an active member of her church and neighborhood communities. Sharon enjoyed the arts, museums and simple joy of book club with her friends. She volunteered for nearly 10 years at Empty Bowls (aka “So Others May Eat) and at her church as a Sunday school educator.

Sharon’s sweet tooth, zest for life, kind heart and contagious laughter will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and calling her their friend, mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alyshia and Carlos Linares, and their  3 children Cristabel, Owen and Sadie Linares, her 4 brothers, Robert and his wife Leslie, James and his wife Ann Marie,  Steven and Chris Boisvert, along with several nieces and nephews.

Services for Sharon will be held at St. John Neuman Catholic Church in Reston Virginia on Monday, April 29th at 10:30 am.  https://saintjn.org/

All are welcome to join in a celebration of Sharon’s life reception at 12:30pm at Brambleton Community Center, 42645 Regal Wood Drive, Brambleton, VA 20148
