Obituary of Yolande Rogers

On May 10th, 2019 Yolande Rogers peacefully passed away in her bed at the age of 90. Yolande was born on November 12, 1928 in Bienne, Switzerland.  She married Sterling Rogers in France in 1954. Yolande had an exceptional gift of being able to speak four languages fluently: French, Italian, German and English.  She found the perfect career to utilize her gift as an international telephone operator at Geneva Hospital in Switzerland.  In 1993 she retired and chose to move from Switzerland to Binghamton, NY to help raise her grandson, Cheyo.  In 1997, she moved to Reston, VA to be closer to her daughter’s family: Eliane, Kader, Noelle and great grandson, Markell.

In the U.S., she is survived by her 2 daughters & sons-in-law: Eliane & Kader and Kaleka & Yomi as well as her son & daughter-in-law Valdo & Pamela. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Angelina, Luigi, Tara, Noelle, Cheyo and 7 great grandchildren: Markell, Kristiana, Jada, Evin, Indigo, Jacob and Lucas.

In Switzerland, Yolande is survived by her twin brother, Ernesto Fantoni, and his family.

Yolande will be missed by those left behind as she continues into the next phase of life’s journey. Gratefully, Yolande will make one more physical journey as her remains are flown back to her beloved home country, Switzerland.

May Yolande travel well, and find the rest, peace, love and happiness that awaits us all on the other side.

Lovingly from all of us that owe their existence to you and the generations yet to come.
