Obituary of Maria Eva Paz Marfori
Maria “Eva” Paz Marfori died in her home on May 23, 2019 due to complications following a long battle with Scleroderma. Eva’s funeral will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 1, at the Adams Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170. The burial at Chesnut Grove Cemetery and a luncheon will follow.
Eva was born on February 13, 1948 to Milagros N de la Paz and Guillermo T. Marfori in Marikina, Philippines. She moved to the United States with her family at a young age, and after losing both parents by the age of 22, she helped to raise her younger sister, while also working as an accountant. Eva was very artistic and loved to learn. She loved her large family and was happiest when she was spending time with her children, grandchild, siblings, nieces and nephews. She had a sweet, gentle demeanor and was loved by all who knew her.
Eva is survived by her son Erik Ulsaker, daughter-in-law Michelle Rosenthal, granddaughter Zoey Ulsaker, and former spouse and father of her children Kenneth Ulsaker. Eva is also survived by siblings Ramon Marfori, Ricardo Marfori, Virginia McCreight, and Norberto Marfori, as well as her 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Milagros de la Paz and Guillermo T. Marfori, her son Kevan Ulsaker, and her brothers José P. Marfori and Raul Marfori. She will be laid to rest beside her son Kevan.
