We knew Tank from high school (actually Cathie knew him from their Great Falls days, and, like his 2 brothers, one of the nicest guys in the world. His love of music, cars, and dancing are especially memorable. We’ll miss him at Cars 4 Cure show each year and his DJ contributions to class and annual picnic reunions. Rest well Tank, we’ll see you again someday my friend.

Dear Barb,
Words never come easily when we are trying to console a friend who has lost their
loved one. We are so sorry that Tank has left us all, too soon. Take comfort in knowing that your favorite DJ and dance partner left so many folks with such good memories. (He DJ'd our wedding!)
Love & prayers,
Bonni & Dave

I remember Tank as the DJ at my son Zach's wedding. Then I would take walks with Tank when we had a field trip together. He was the best!

There are countless memories that include Tank. The hundreds of family gatherings on special occasions over the years were always good times we shared with him. When Dad was still with us there was always a crab feast for father's day. Everyone picked and ate, where Tank on the other hand constantly picked patiently and then ate and enjoyed all the meat at once. ….don't know how he did that, because the rest of us could not wait. The fishing trips for the GUYS ONLY with captain Lee on the Chesapeake Bay (Rock fish season) was a big hit also. We could go on and on about the car shows we joined him, Barbara's birthday bash he had with the dance group on her 50th. The list is endless. One thing is for sure, he loved his friends and family. We all will miss him and there will be tears at times, but there will also be smiles when the pain lightens and our favorite memories of him shine thru.
We will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you again in heaven. Rest in peace.
We love you.

To all Tank's beloved family and friends, I'm sending my heartfelt condolences. Tank was one of the nicest people ever and always made me feel welcome and among friends when I came to Herndon at age 14. I will always remember his smile and friendly face, making sure everyone felt welcome and at home. I'm so sorry for the loss of this good man. May peace be with all his loved ones.

I Tank had a heart of gold the size that only his frame or Fort Knox could hold. His love for Barbara, others and CARs could not be missed. As Tank and Barbara’s next door neighbors I can attest that he is already missed. I grieve his loss but I celebrate his homecoming.
When Tank called me just a very short time ago to tell me that the Drs said his heart was failing and his time was short I was taken aback. I told him I loved him so much that I had to ask “Tank, do you know my Jesus?” His assurance that he did and was “right with God and His Son” made the news much more bearable.
Tank, well done good and faithful servant. I will meet you again when I come home. Enjoy your new home and Cheryl and I will be here with many others to look after your beloved Barbara.
I can hear the Model As greeting you now
Aoogga, aoogga !!
Godspeed and God bless

The moniker, Tank, dating from his high school football days, and my memories of him going much farther back, he will always be Billy to me. We went through school together, commencing at the "Old School" built in 1922,
My fondest memory of Billy is he occasionally riding his bicycle over to my house and two or three of us hoofing it through the woods to swim in Captain Hickory Creek - the most beautiful place on earth- and truth be told having a smoke, I'm sure. Our Tom Sawyer lazy summers.

I met Tank this past December while in Loudoun Hospital. Very dear friends of ours were discussing my health issues and thought Tank’s health experiences were similar to mine and he wanted to visit me and offer encouragement. He and Barbara’s visit was much appreciated! We only had an hour but a fun and most welcome visit. He had such a bright outlook on life and it was a pleasurable and fun visit. It certainly brightened my outlook.
My deepest condolences to Barbara and family.

Dear family, I didn't have the pleasure of knowing your beloved Tank but I do know the pain of losing a loved one and the grief associated with it. What has helped me to cope with the loss is the promise in the Bible of a resurrection (Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29) and that those resurrected love ones will never again contend with sickness, pain, or death (Revelation 21:4). I pray this brings you some comfort in the hours, days, and months ahead.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of Tank Edwards. I haven't seen him in years but thought about him frequently. I cherish the time I had with him at Herndon High School and afterwards. He was an outstanding man and friend to many and will be missed by all of us that had the opportunity to know him.
Very respectfully, Dickie Best
