Obituary of Claudette Baird

Claudette Baird (née Rainis) of Sterling, Virginia and Sarasota, Florida passed away on July 1, 2019 at the age of 76.  She was preceded in death by her husband John, and her sisters, Liliane and Claudine.  Claudette is survived by her daughters Isabelle and Stephanie, and her granddaughter Julia. 

Claudette was born near Paris, France and moved to the United States when she was 26 years old.  During her successful 20+ year career at The World Bank in Washington DC, she earned a Master’s Degree from Georgetown University and a CPA Degree.  

Good food, good wine, travel, reading, learning, and spending time with family and friends brought her genuine joy.  We celebrate the life of Claudette Baird, a vibrant, active, intellectual, and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who had a wonderful life and influenced the lives of so many people. 

Claudette will be laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Friday July 5, 2019 at 11:00 am.
