Maya was born on May 3rd, 1935 in Voronezh, Russia; Maya was best known for her great sense of humor, generous spirit and her energy, as well as her love of gardening, engineering and friends. Through years of tremendous hardships and struggle to come to the USA Maya was always the centerpiece of the family, while keeping in contact with hundreds of friends and classmates all over the world. She especially had an inscrutable devoted love of Israel. She was intensely interested in the news from Israel and if not for age and her family she would probably be there to help. Maya was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Anatoly Bazarov, in 1995. She is survived by her son Igor, daughters: Alla and Sveta; ; her sister Tamara, and brother Michael; her grandchildren, Ilya, Yana, Michael, Dimitry, little Ilya, Norah and Sophie; also many nieces, nephews and cousins; Maya also leaves behind numerous friends and extended family in Russia, United States and Israel and many other countries. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday September 24. 2011 at 11:00 a.m. At Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA. Thank you all who helped Maya in her time of need. We love you forever and will never forget you. She leaves family and friends too grief-stricken for words, and the world will be less for her being gone. Maya’s wonderful and loving personality will be greatly missed; In lieu of flowers, please consider carrying on the things that Maya believed in: See the beauty in every person; enjoy the world and help others; be involved in your neighborhood; have a wonderful meal with family and friends.
