Mr. Keppel was a very dear and special friend to our mother. He would visit her weekly after she suffered a stroke, and every time he lifted her spirits like no one else could.
They would share stories, they would pray, and he would serve her communion. This gesture meant the world to her, as she no longer could physically get to catholic mass on her own.
We want his family to know he adored every single one of you and spoke about you often. Always updating our mom on the latest stories of his beloved grandchildren. He truly touched all of our lives, especially our moms. He will be tremendously missed, but has left such a wonderful imprint on all of our hearts. We will think of him every time we go to breakfast at Virginia Kitchen :) We loved him so much!
Love,
Joan, Briean and Whitney Cargill

Tom will always be remembered for his smile, his wit, and his gift for gab, and of course being from the great state of New Jersey. I first met Tom when we were both on the Parish Council of St. Joseph's. We both ushered at St. Joseph's and it was like old home week when we ushered the same mass.
In today's fast passed world, it was always refreshing for me to see Tom either before, at, or after mass. He had a way of making you feel at ease no matter what you had been doing prior to seeing him.
I will miss this real gentlemen at a time when one does not find real gentlemen.

Tom was what you called a true gentleman. Tom had this quality about him to make you feel like you were the most special person in the world. He always had compliments for me when he would see me either in church, at the office or around Herndon. He never forgot to ask how David, my husband, and the boys were doing? He was a reliable and faithful servant to the homebound, sick and Seniors of our parish and community. They trutly loved him. He was a friend and a Brother in Christ. Your work here is done! Tom, You will be missed! I didn't think God would take you home this early, my friend, but I know you are truly happy and will continue to work for us in heaven. Thank you for all your Works of Mercy and for being there for all of us.Pray for us!

Tom Kepple was an amazing man. He was a proud and loving father. I think the good Lord arranged their final week at the beach together. Our daughters attended Herndon High School together. Tom was an incredibly active parishioner at St. Joseph’s. It was there he was an Eucharistic Minister bringing Communion to the ill and housebound of the parish. It was in this role that he brought me the Eucharist once a week for many years solidifying a fond friendship.I have no doubt that Tom had a direct passage through the Heavenly Gates. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in these difficult days.

We met Tom many years ago when we first moved to Hunters Creek. And then years later we would see him at the pool. Always so friendly and so very kind. He always took the time to talk with my children and grandchildren while at the pool. He loved to lounge in the water with his “noodle “ whenever we teased him he would tell us” I’m exercising”
My deepest sympathy to your family. He truly was a great man...one if a kind. We are lucky to have known him.

We didn’t know him personally, but he greeted our family so cheerfully nearly every single Sunday. He always had a kind word for each of our kids, always held the doors for us, and was so patient when our kids took forever to add their money to the gift basket. He was a very sweet and kind man and we’re sorry to hear of his passing.

Tom started sitting with us at 10 am mass over 10 years ago. Our family loved spending time with him over the years - he was especially sweet to our three children who gravitated toward 'Mr. Tom' since they were toddlers. His had such a giving nature, always asking questions and remembering the details of what we shared with him. He shared stories of his family and often spoke in a loving and proud way of his girls, his grandchildren and his wife. To say Mr. Tom will be missed by us is an understatement. Knowing he is resting in peace, happy to be reunited with his wife and in God's grace give us much comfort.

It was always a pleasure to see Tom, most often at 10 a.m. mass and sometimes at Hunters Creek pool. Tom always had a smile on his face, a cheerful greeting, and was especially kind to young children. His commitment to so many ministries at St. Joe's was impressive, and his presence will be greatly missed.

I send our condolences to Tom’s family. We have been neighbors to Tom for 16 years as well as members of St. Joseph’s parish. Tom cared about others first and foremost. He was always ready to help others in need. He graciously stood in as sponsor for the sacrament of confirmation for our oldest son. Unfortunately, I will be away and unable to pay my respects in person at the viewing or at the funeral. I pray to see Tom as an usher in heaven one day.

The 10 AM Mass at St. Joseph won’t ever be the same for me. I enjoyed being greeeted by Tom’s embrace, always complimenting me on my outfit, shoes, etc. It seemed that the ushering and communion service wasn’t ever as smooth when Tom was gone. As I got to know Tom, becoming a regular at Arbor Terrace with him, I saw his dedication to delivering communion to the home bound and his commitment to our church. Tom was always friendly, kind, and very involved asking about my life, where was I last week, when is my next trip, etc. He focused on others rather than himself. I do know how he loved his children and grandchildren and how excited he was when visiting CO or Fl. We also shared some laughs after his NJ golf trips with his friends. I will sorely miss seeing him and sorry I am in CO and can’t attend his service. Please know that my prayers are with the family and feel confident Tom is organizing some event now in heaven. My life is fuller having known Tom.
