Obituary of Wilma Juanita King

Wilma Juanita King was born on November 22, 1939 to the late Dock and Elizabeth Mines in Cleveland Ohio. A devout Christian, she was baptized at the Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. H. P. Horne where she became president of the usher board.   In 1985 she joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church under Rev. Larry Harris.  Wilma left Cleveland in 1994 and moved to Dayton Ohio where she became a member of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s Chapel 3.  In 1997, she relocated to Sterling, VA where she joined First Baptist Church of Sterling, Leslie Patterson, Pastor.  And last but not least, Heritage Fellowship Church under the Rev Dr. Norman A. Tate and Rev. Dustin B, Sullivan. which has been her home ever since. Wilma truly relished her time as a member of the Heritage Church family and she will be well remembered as a strong-willed soul.  Her friendships held no bounds.  Wilma was so proud of the day she became an usher at Heritage, a responsibility and honor she took very seriously.

Wilma was a supervisor for Answering Cleveland Inc. for 20 years before moving to Dayton OH where she worked as a front desk clerk at the Days Inn.  When she relocated to Virginia, Wilma worked airport security at Dulles International Airport until she retired in 2001.

The Lord chose to issue Wilma with her wings on the 19th of July.  She was preceded in this calling by her parents Dock and Elizabeth Mines, her brothers Lloyd and Christopher Mines and her sister Doris Taylor.

Left to carry on her legacy and cherished memories are her loving sons; Darrel (Kathie) King, Deirek (Lydia) King of Dayton Ohio; loving daughter Debra (Russell) King-Sandidge; brothers Sylvester (Yvonne) Mines of Cleveland Ohio, Will Forte, Sr. of Phoenix City Alabama; sister-in-law Beverly Ann Mines of Cleveland Ohio; five loving grandchildren, Michael King, Michelle King, Christian Sandidge, Christopher Sandidge and DeLise King; along with her loving nieces, nephews, and dearest friends.
