Obituary of Leroy Thomas Gray, Jr.

Leroy T. Gray, Jr., 67, of Hendon, VA passed away on August 22, 2019 at Reston Hospital in Reston, VA.  He is processed in death by the late Audrey M. and Leroy T. Gray and grew up in Loudoun County, VA.  He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting as a child, as well as later in life.  As a preferred past time, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spent many hours riding and enjoying the open air.

He was a devoted and loyal employee at William A. Hazel where he worked from 1986 until 2008.  After 22 years of service with Hazel, he took that same dedication in 2008 to Shirley Contracting where he was employed at the time of his passing.

He is processed in death by his parents, his oldest sister, Audrey DeWitt, and his son, Leroy (Spanky) Gray.

He is survived by his children, Wendy M. Epperley and her husband Bryan, Tina Bridgett and her husband Nathaniel, Bonnie Stryker and her husband Humphery, Crystal Plaugher and her husband Clint, and Edward Gray.  Also his sisters, Pearl DeVries and husband Ron, Roberta Spencer and husband Robert, Laurie Lewis and husband Ronald, his brothers, Howard Gray, James Gray and his wife Linda, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  To also include his former wife Ruth Gray, who always remained his friend.     

He will be greatly missed by his many friends, co-worker, and family for his sense of humor and the one to always be the first to pick on them.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).  Services and interment were private.
