Obituary of Sue Goode

Dora Sue Goode (Sue), 77 of Herndon, VA passed away on Sunday September 8, 2019 surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Michael, their son Chris (Herndon), their daughter Shannon, Son in Law Jake and two grandchildren Rylan and Jackson Woodfin (Radford).  Her sister Jeanne, brother Leonard, half-sister Vicki. stepsister Linda and several nieces and nephews.

Sue was born October 13, 1941 in Cyclone, West Virginia.  She graduated from Oceana High School in the class of 1959.  Sue worked for AT&T for 16 years in Washington D.C, California, Georgia and New York City, as well as Virginia when they settled in Herndon in 1972.  She then worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for 16 years at Floris Elementary before retiring in 2007.  In addition to living and traveling all over the United States, Sue loved to go on cruises where she visited the Caribbean, Mexico, and South America.  She also loved to go to Walt Disney World in Florida.  She was loyally devoted to her husband, friends, students, and fellow teachers but most of all Sue loved being a Mom. 

Visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home (721 Elden St. Herndon VA. 20170) On Friday September 20, 2019 from 4-6pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, using the link below, to the Alzheimer’s Association in Memory of Sue’s 9 year battle with this terrible disease.
