Obituary of Ruth Ann McGillicuddy

Ruth Ann McGillicuddy, 82, of Baltimore, MD died October 8, 2019, in Reston, VA.  She was born on September 8, 1937, in Abingdon, VA, to Phillip Edwards Reynolds and Ethel (Thompson) Reynolds.  She is survived by her daughter Tammy Mitchell and grandson Bradley Mitchell, both of Sterling, VA.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene McGillicuddy, her brothers Leo Reynolds, Ernest Reynolds, Roy Reynolds, James Reynolds, and Phillip Reynolds, Jr., and her sister Ernestine (Reynolds) Barbarick.

Ruth lived her entire adult life in Baltimore, working for the Social Security Administration for almost 30 years.  After retiring from Social Security in 1987, she started making crafts and selling them at local fairs.  She enjoyed the beach, baking, traveling, and laughing.   

There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Ruth’s life on Sunday, October 20, 12:30 to 2:30, at Galilee Methodist Church, 45425 Winding Road, Sterling, VA, 20165.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Audubon Society, or another charity supporting birds.
