Obituary of Gerd Dahling Kidwell

GERD DAHLING KIDWELL (age 76):

Of Herndon, Virginia, on October 10, 2019, GERD DAHLING KIDWELL,beloved widow of H. Kent Kidwell, mother of Kristin E. Leathers and John K. Kidwell, grandmother of six, and “mah” to many many more, passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of her countless friends and family.

Gerd, was a selfless woman in all aspects of her life. As a mother, as a wife, as a Dentist’s Assistant, and even as she single-handedly ran a daycare for 20+ kids out of her home off Kinship Drive in Fox Mill Estates, Gerd thought first of the needs of others. She treated every situation and person she ever encountered with dignity, and a beautiful, motherly, elegant smile. She was jovial in spirit and gracefully stubborn in soul.

Gerd’s cupboard was always open, as was her heart. Born in Norway, Gerd brought with her a warmth and kind, hospitable nature, that kept many of our waistlines thicker than we wanted- but that woman could throw a party and cook gourmet for an army!

Gerd was an Angel on earth, and she will be sorely missed by so very many, as she ascends to her father, Lord Jesus Christ, as an Angel who will assuredly brighten the stars of heaven.

A viewing will be held at Adams Green Funeral Home: 721 Elden Street, Herndon Va, from 5pm-8pm on Tuesday evening, October 15th.

A funeral service for Gerd will be held at Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church: 432 Van Buren Street, Herndon Va, beginning at 11am on Wednesday, October 16th.

There will be a reception after the funeral service at Gerd’s house: 2726 Sasscer's Hill Ct, Herndon VA.

On Thursday, October 17th, Gerd will be buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in West Virginia, next to her husband, at high noon.
