Mark was a true friend, always there to celebrate the good times and help out when things were rough or broken or too heavy to lift. His warm smile and positive attitude would brighten any day. Our “fence talks” and story telling sessions always ended in laughter. We will miss you dearly.

When Mark would come to Progeny in Manassas VA, I was always happy to see him. We would talk and reminisce about the Yankees. I am heartbroken to hear that he passed. My love and condolences to his family. Rest in peace my friend.

I cant believe I am writing this.I wish this was just a bad dream we could wake up from. He was one beautiful soul, taken too soon from us. We are fortunate to know Mark and his family for the last 15 years. Its a blessing to have them as our neighbors. He never asked for help but always the first one to help others. He always had time for us and we consulted with him on almost everything we did on our backyard. He had a loving, caring and respectful attitude with a kind heart. You cant miss the vibrant joy he had, when he was with his dad, with his friends and with his family. We are going to miss a smiling, friendly, brotherly voice from across our fence while we worked in our backyard or when we left for work in the morning almost at the same time. I got motivated looking at him doing all things around the house. On snow days I forced myself to getup after hearing his snow blower. Cant forget the days we chatted on the driveway after clearing the snow. We all lost a great soul and it is going to be very difficult to adjust to the new normal without him around. Words cannot give solace to the bereaving family. Lets pray for their strength in this trying time and wanted to let them know that we all love them and have a great deal of debt to payback for the love and affection Mark showed us each day. May God rest his soul in peace!

Since the day I arrived in the DC Metro area, Mark was, and will always be, a part of my memories of the area. From his great story-telling to his sage advice, and to our time on the links; Mark was always a positive force that drove me to be the best person possible.

I knew Mark for over a decade as a colleague and friend at Carderock. Mark brought such passion and energy to his work. I always enjoyed working with him, and he could brighten up any day with his entertaining stories. I'll never forgot Mark's story of visiting a petting zoo where a goat was a little too aggressive. He was such a great storyteller, but more importantly, a great person. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Krutz family.

There are so many memories of Mark that stand out. This is the story of when he went to buy a car and once he got there the dealer did not seem to want to sell him the car that brought him there for the price he wanted to pay. Mark's story would last for 15 minutes every time he told it and it always ended with him yelling out "Bait and Switch" both to the dealer and when he was telling the story. If you have known Mark for a while you definitely heard this one! Mark always shared his unique experiences with such detail and humor. He was a great story teller. Remember when he lost (or should I say flushed) his keys on a Golf outing or his experiences with a goat! We will all miss Mark! My thoughts go out to the Krutz family at this difficult time.
