Obituary of Naomi Mildred Godby

Naomi G. Godby, 98, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on January 21, 2020 at Inova Loudoun Hospital. 

She was born on April 19, 1921 in the small coal-mining town of Newlyn in Fayette County, WV to Adolphus and Margaret Garten.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Godby, her son, Ronald E. Godby and her sister, Jean Elder.  Naomi is survived by her children, John Godby and his wife Connie, and Sue Godby Putnam McKeague and her husband, Billy, as well as her brother Steve Garten and his wife Donna.  She was a loving grandmother to Leslie Martell and her husband Greg, Jeff Godby and his wife Shannon, Sherri Hewitt and her husband Jeff, Julie Camann, Lori Godby, John Godby Jr. and his wife Julie, Steve Putnam and his wife Stacey and Joanna Ryan and her husband Mike.  She was an aunt to Margaret, Heather, Jennifer and Amy, a great-grandmother to 22, and a great-great-grandmother also to 22.
