I am so sorry to hear the news of Eugene's passing. I worked with Eugene for over 10 years at HUD. He was always helpful and meticulous in his work. Every year, after Halloween, Eugene would bring in the leftover candy - full sized Hershey bars. I always figured kids must have been lined up outside his house on Halloween to get that treat - just shows you how generous Eugene was. I will fondly remember his sarcastic sense of humor, his Indianapolis Colts jacket, and his love of softball.
Eugene’s dedication to the Sterling UMC softball team will be missed. Outside of seeing him at church from time to time and wheeling the supply cart to the softball field, I didn’t know Eugene too well, but he will be missed. Prayers of comfort and peace to those of you who knew him well.
