I only knew Clif very briefly—he knew my husband through his brochure work at ABMC. I invited him to share his oral history and created a video about his wartime experience while I was an intern at the American Veterans Center. I am grateful that he took time out of schedule to share his moving story. Sharing links below, as well as photos he sent/ones we took during his interview.

I met Clif when I joined the Chantilly Writers Group in 2002 and he continued to stay in touch with me after I moved. He was a kind, gentle soul who always had a good thing to say about my writing. I'm glad I knew him and am sorry to hear he's gone.

My condolences to the Berry family. I remember LTC Berry when he was a First Lieutenant and a platoon leader in Honor Guard Company, 1st BG, 3d Infantry and met him when I was assigned there in 1960. I later ran into him in 1964 at Fort Benning when I was attending airborne school. My he rest in peace.

Cliff was a sweet man who always made my day when I worked with him. I was a client who helped work on the ABMC brochures. I still remember him giving me shiny gold dollar coins for the meter when we had a meeting in town and told me to keep the extra for fun. He will be missed. Rest In Peace Cliff.

Clif was one of my favorite clients. We worked together for almost two decades on several projects and publications including the ABMC materials mentioned in the obituary. He was always incredibly kind to me and to my staff and celebrated all of our milestones with us as part of the family. I so enjoyed his stories and his infectious smiles. I was so so sorry to hear he had passed. I will be raising a glass to him tonight.

Clifton was always my hero from the time he entered West Point. I was just a 10 year old lad then and our family always crowded around Grandma Berry's 17 or 19 inch b/w TV to watch the Army/Navy game and watch for our Cliffy and we were always sure that we saw him in the Corps of Cadets! I have had several email exchanges with him in recent years and was fascinated to learn of all his accomplishments. A Viet Nam Vet friend was visiting from California last year and I was showing him my Bantam book collection of Cliff's writings and he identified with "Chargers" as he had served in the 196th Light Infantry in country at the same time. He was a hero to me and to all of our family and we were immensely proud to have known him and mourn his passing.
Our love to his family, comrades and friends.
