Frances Schwebius, 93, of Ashburn, VA passed away peacefully on March 21, 2020 at the Capital Caring Health Adler Center in Aldie, VA.  Frances was the youngest of five children, born in Brooklyn, NY to Jennie and Nicholas Iacovino on June 23, 1926.  In addition to her years as a homemaker raising her children, Frances had several careers as an Executive Secretary, as the Coordinator of a Medical Transport Program for cancer patients, and as a McOpCo Community Relations Representative for the McDonald’s Corporation.

Although a lifelong, devout Catholic, Frances was also involved in a variety of Interfaith-based activities because of her deep-seeded belief that everyone is connected in Spirit.  She was a Life Member of Hadassah, and for more than a decade was responsible for the Jewish National Fund tree-planting project for her local chapter, as well as other fundraising activities.  In 2012, at 86 years old, she was named a recipient of the 26th Annual Hadassah Leadership Award.

Frances was a true force of nature who lived life with gusto and was known for her extra large capacity for nurturing love & care.  She was an avid reader whose other interests included Cooking, Theater, Line Dancing, Mahjong, Rummikub, Chorus Singing, Visiting Wineries, and going to Casinos!  She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Frances was married for 40 years to her beloved husband, Victor Schwebius, until his death in 1992.  Frances is survived by her Son, Rev. Louis Schwebius & her Daughter-In-Law, Ji-Hae Park of Reston, VA; her Daughter, Mary Minerva & her Son-In-Law, Rich Minerva of Winter Haven, FL; and her grandchildren Rohafza Atazai, Rishi Madan, & Cory Minerva.

Burial was private, but plans for a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be put in place after the pandemic restrictions are lifted.

The family requests that donations in Frances’ memory be made to either Capital Caring Health, https://www.capitalcaring.org/ or The American Cancer Society, https://www.cancer.org/.
