So sorry to hear of Jill’s passing. I remember playing softball with her at York Center, going to 4-H meetings with her, and riding my bike up that long lane to visit her. What beautiful pictures of her with her family. Good memories for a good person.

Chuck, Molly, Johnas, Grayson and Violet - I have tried on several occasions to adequately express my feelings to you about Jilly. But, every time I tried, it just didn't seem like it was good enough. I don't know that there would ever be enough words, sentences or paragraphs to properly describe this amazing character. And that's what she was, an amazing and most unforgettable character. She was so kind, she was so funny, she was so non-judgmental, and so terribly bright. She could work circles around anyone, especially me.
We had years, yes years, of smoking outside of 1310, Connecticut Avenue, and Headquarters. I'm not sure how much work we got done but we blessed (thank you Clark, Mike, Curtis and Mark) for not scolding us. During those times, we would laugh unmercifully and complain to the High Heavens. However, every time we went back upstairs, all was well with the world.
I will miss her always. My Family will miss her. She was a part of every Family get-together and Holiday. Friendships are to be cherished and treasured. When you are blessed to have Friends that become Family, how could you go wrong. I'm terribly sad to miss her, but there are countless stories that can make you belly laugh about Jill Marshall. What an incredible legacy she has left to us. Thank you, Ethel. Love, Lucy

The world has lost a beautiful soul. Anyone who was fortunate enough to spend any amount of time would never forget her. She had an infectious smile and a unforgettable laugh. I am honored to have been able to call her my friend. My deepest and sincerest condolences to Molly and Chuck. I will miss her dearly.

I knew your mom through Bubba and enjoyed listening to her stories, hearing her infectious laugh and enjoying the best chocolate cake I have ever had in my life. I occasionally would run into her in Fairfax and it always put a smile on my face. Jill seemed to live life big and passed that spark onto those she met. Big hug to you all. Jamie Kerr

My heart goes out to Molly and Chuck. Jill will be missed by so many people including myself. Her impact on so many lives will go untold. I had the pleasure to know Jill for 19 years. Over that time, I developed a nickname for her which was Mrs. Landingham (the wise person from the show The West Wing). Mrs. Landingham, I will miss you so much and rest in peace.
Wisdom Chapter 3 says “The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and they're going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace.

Dear Molly & Chuck:
Don't know if you guys even remember me; but I was probably the first Chief of the Uniformed Division that your mom work with. I meet you guys one day when you were young and our office was on 1310 L street. I worked with Jill for about two years; then I retired. I guess the thing that won me over about her was the big wide smile and hearty laugh. She was a tremendous help to me and always was an uplifting person to work with. My sincere condolence to you and your family. Jill will be missed by so many friends and co-workers.

Molly and Chuck: Jill was one of a kind! When I first moved to DC she was my boss and I knew right away we were going to be friends, we just clicked! Through the years we played bingo, went on a trip or two and although I moved away, anytime we saw each other we picked right up like no time had passed. This morning I heard about Jill passing and my heart is heavy - love and prayers to you both. I know you guys were so special to her and just know she will be missed by all who knew her. What a laugh and great personality the world has to live without now - but her legacy lives on through you. Gail Foster, Nashville, TN

Molly & Chuck, your mom was one of a kind! Her laugh was LOUD, and it would always put a smile on my face. Jill’s commitment to her friends was second to none, and Jill loved to travel. I loved hearing Jill talk about all her protective trips. I was so blessed to have worked so many years with Jill in the Office of the Chief. While she loved talking about her work trips and personal travels, nothing made Jill happier then her children. She was so proud of both of you, and she loved you very much. Rest in peace Jill…. You were loved by so many. Mark Chaney

We always had so much fun on our trips to New York. She always knew the best places to eat and most expensive, but were worth it. I loved how she had no filters and always said what was on her mind. My favorite memory was when we had finally arrived back in DC on 9/11. We didn’t get back until late that night. My boss got on the bus and “can I get you anything”. Jill piped up in her booming voice “you can get us off this GD bus. Love you and miss you. New York will never be the same

I'm so sorry for your loss. Jill was always smiling and laughing. I remember the night before your wedding at my old house. We had such a great time making food and spending time together. She was so excited for you and loved hanging with the girls. Jill will always be with you and I know she is so proud of the woman, mother and wife you have become. We love you!

So many memories with Jill! Her laughter that I can still hear, her hugs that I can still feel and her love of food. I’ll always remember all our get togethers at Jill’s house. After eating we would sit at the table in her kitchen (with full bellies) and discuss it all and then what we could do next time. Eating at her house was always a culinary experience full of love and laughter. Thank you for all the memories, love and kindness Jill! We love and miss you always!

My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the family of Jill Marshall. I worked with Jill for many years while at the Secret Service; she was strong and resilient. I admired her steadiness of purpose and that dry, witty sense of humor she had. Jill will be missed. Rest in peace friend!
