The loss of Tom Connally is terribly sad. Tom was the epitome of a good, ethical man. He was uniquely devoted to the family that raised him and to the family he and his wife raised. They and his friends took great pleasure in his humor, his unbounded curiosity and his enthusiasm. He was an unusually insightful and supportive physician for hundreds of patients, always interested and seemingly unhurried. He was a good citizen who worked assiduously to expand access to medical care to all Americans. He enjoyed life while enhancing it for others.
