Monique and Paul, herb and I have good memories of Lucien as a very sensible, well-read and gracious man, a good husband and father, intelligent, interesting and well-read. Though it has been years since we last saw him, we shall still miss him as one of our very good friends of the past. We believe that many of his best qualities have been passed on to both of you and to your children. We all grow nostalgic about our past, but truly our years in Madagascar and later in Reston were some of the best and happiest in our lives.
