I have many fond memories of the times I spent in Jack and Sherry's home in Montclair, Va. Jack was a very comfortable person to be around and always made me feel welcomed. The two of us would swap wisecracks/barbs/jokes with each other and as I recall we sometimes got on Sherry's last nerve (even though she never said that). Jack always won those rounds, but I always looked forward to our bouts. I probably knew Jack better than any of my other friends husbands because he was so easy to get to know and I always felt like a part of their family.
When I left Virginia and moved back home to Texas I missed seeing Jack and Sherry; but they did make a trip to Texas to visit and it was great seeing them. Wish we could have had more visits, but we did, and still do, stay in touch.
It's always sad to learn of a friend passing and it broke my heart to know that Sherry had to say goodbye to her lifetime love. But no one can take away all the beautiful memories of an amazing guy that was loved by all who knew him.
Take care of yourselves, Sherry, Jacquie and Dave and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
