When my Mom first introduced me to George I wasn't sure what to think. Turned out they were perfect for each other. He went all in where it came to my family too. We shared many good times together like cookouts and joint birthday celebrations with my kids (February is a very good month). Along the way he helped me become a better person and father since he always found the time to dish out advise on grilling techniques and car maintenance tips. Now that he has passed I am not sure what to think (again), but I do know we will see each other again one day. Rest easy George, we all love you very much.

We are so sad to have to say good bye to George. We know with all our hearts that he is now free of pain and illness and is smiling on us all from Heaven. He was a man of great faith. He loved my mom with his whole heart. He always said they were two peas in a pod! He also loved all of us "kids" like we were his own. We loved him back. Michael has said how much we will miss his support and generosity of spirit. He always made us laugh even though his jokes were usually corny!! His passing has left an empty hole in our lives and we will miss him.

I will miss my grandpa George but I know he is at peace and watching over us all. I'll always have great memories of him including him teaching me to drive a stick shift in my first car. I am thankful he was so great to my granma and will be looking out for her until they meet again. Rest in peace grandpa, we all love and miss you.

Dear Dian, Family and Friends,
I will always remember and give thanks for George and Dian as faithful beloved parishioners at Community Lutheran Church. They were there every Sunday to worship and give thanks to God who gave them life, health, each other, family, friends and fellow believers. George was fervent in prayer and always enjoyed the liturgy, the children, the community and our life together. He had a deep and abiding faith and a great sense of humor. George and Dian were thankful for the life and love they shared and were most gracious in their stewardship and gifts to help our church serve others in the community, Welcoming Others, Growing in Grace and Sharing Christ's Love. With our deepest respect, sympathy and love to Dian and the whole family.
Go in Peace George, serve the Lord! Rev. Joe and Debra Vought, Pastor at Community Lutheran 2008-2019

George was the type of person that always made you feel like family. It was always an enjoyment visiting with him! He was a great pop pop, too! He was always fun to be around and had a great sense of humor! He would make us laugh, even if we weren't feeling good, and helped us with things when he could. I'm going to miss his great cooking on the grill, too! I was proud to know him, as he never showed fear, either. He will always be a hero in my eyes! We love and will miss you! May you rest in peace, George, and your memory be eternal!

George was a dear friend of ours who will be sorely missed. While his last few months on Earth were not the best, we’ll remember all the good times we had with George at the Thanksgiving dinners at Tom and Sandy’s house and the Christmas Eve fondue dinners we had at our house. We’ll not forget the trips to Ocean City and Washington Redskins games (You know, when the Redskins were a good team. The best time was when we once sat behind the Redskins band), and the countless dinners out. We won’t forget the cookouts at George and Dian’s where George was the Grill Master, making sure that everyone’s meat or chicken was cooked just the way they liked it. He made sure that whatever you were drinking, your glass was never empty. George seemed to have a knack for making the time spent with him to seem too short because he had a great sense of humor. He cared about people and we cared about him. Rest in peace, dear friend, rest in peace.

George and I worked together on multiple occasions after both our times in the Army. I first met him while working in Chantilly, Va, Back in 1998, while I was with ITS, which later transitioned to CSC. After I left CSC, about 2000, I moved onto another company, and George joined us at the Taylor Building in Crystal City, VA. He worked in another section, but under the same company. After that timeframe, we moved to Building 215 at Fort Belvoir. We worked in the CAC/PKI Lab together. We crossed paths many times and I will always remember George with fondness and friendship. He will be missed!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God bless you, George, and those that you left behind.

George was the best friend I've ever had; he was like a brother to me ever since we met in 1987 at Vint Hill. We went through a lot together, and I could always count on him to give me his honest opinion about things. Even when I disagreed with him, I knew he always had my best interests at heart. I have many good memories of our times together in VA, and will miss our conversations on Skype with my Brother Walt and the laughs we shared. He will Always be my Brother and I'll miss him terribly..........Rest Well, George......

When I started my Master's program, Pop Pop told me that he didn't think he would make it to see my graduation, I told him that was preposterous and I was sure he would be there in person to see it. He said that he hoped that when I walked across the stage to receive my diploma, I would feel a pat on my back and know it was from him. Now that he's passed, I will be looking forward to that pat on the back. Pop Pop will be missed dearly and will always be in my heart.

I will remember the conversations we had, the emails with tons of photos, and the dad jokes. The physical distance between us was seldom felt because of the love he had for us. We are so sad right now but we know the memories of the laughter and love he shared will help us through the tough times.
Aunt Dian, we love you so much and wish we could be there. Please let us know if you need anything or if you want to talk.

My fondest memories of George involve how hard he worked to make sure that everyone had a wonderful time during cook outs. He was always there when I needed him. He almost always wore a ball cap.
