Obituary of Edward J Alexander

Edward J. Alexander, 79, of Sterling, VA, passed away on Thursday July 30, 2020, after battling a long illness. A native of Masontown, PA, Ed attended All Saints High School, graduating in 1959. After graduating he moved to Washington D.C. and began work at the Washington Post Newspaper. He was employed at the Post for 40 years retiring as Plant Manager in 2000.

An active sportsman and lover of the outdoors, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed attending his grandson’s sporting events and cheering loudly. 

Ed is survived by his loving wife Carol of 56 years, three sons, Mark (Andrea) of Leesburg, VA, Matthew of Sterling, VA, and Steven of Herndon, VA, and two grandchildren, Joseph Alexander and Nicholas Alexander.

Services will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Potomac Falls, VA. Viewing will begin at 10am with Mass to follow at 11am.
