passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Goodwin House in Alexandria, Va. Beloved wife of the late F. Sheild McCandlish, Jr., devoted mother of Barbara McCandlish (John Van Dyke), Fairfax Sheild McCandlish, III (Joanne), and Margaret L.M.Darby. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael, Mackey, Joanna, Gavin, and Carole. She was predeceased by her first grandson, Robert. A Memorial service will be held Truro Chapel, 10520 Main St, Fairfax, on Saturday September 26, 2009 at 11:00 am, interment immediately following at Fairfax City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 11240 Waples Mill Rd., #402, Fairfax, Va. 22030 or Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, 3905 Railroad Ave. 202 N, Fairfax, VA 22030
