On July 8, 1991, Brandon Jaymes Absher was born to James and Tonya (Rice) Absher in Leesburg, VA.  Being a cherished son, a faithful brother, a loving boyfriend, and a devoted father describe his life, amongst a long list of endearing and honorable qualities. On August 27, 2020, at the age of 29, Brandon’s family and friends were touched with an unexplainable sadness as he passed in the arms and loving care of those who cherished him most.

Throughout his accomplished life, he earned the admiration of many and demonstrated his exceptional commitments to academics and sports.  Brandon graduated from Park View High School in Sterling, VA, where his participation in sports – football, basketball, and track – earned him his letters as well the 2nd Team All District Honors – Defensive Back for the 2008 football season award.  He had such a notable passion for sports.

Brandon’s love for watching and playing football and basketball led him to share his talents as a football coach for the same high school he once attended.  He continued his studies in Sports Administration at Glenville State College in Glenville, West Virginia.  As a 3-year starter for Glenville State, the circle of excellence that defined Brandon’s life was on full display. His legacy will always be remembered because being exceptional was his gift.

In Brandon’s personal life, regular trips to the Farmers Market on Saturdays and listening to music - especially 90’s hip-hop – were just a few of the things he enjoyed. But above all, his greatest accomplishments were his two children – Xavier and Adriel.  Being a loving and devoted father to both was sincerely his greatest triumph.  Brandon will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him – the loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind.

Brandon was preceded in death by his beloved grandmothers Darlene Rice and Thresa Absher. Those left to cherish his eternal memories of a life well spent are his two loving parents, Tonya and James (Sarah); his girlfriend and mother of his children, Cindy Medrano of Sterling, VA; his brother Dante; and his sister Megan.  In addition, Brandon leaves behind his maternal grandfather William “Butch” Rice, several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America so those, like Brandon, may be comforted.
