Obituary of Hazel Joyce Mayo Ogunduyile
Hazel Ogunduyile, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 16th, 2020 at her home. She was born July 7, 1955, in Anniston, Alabama to Edward Mayo & Catherine (Sanders) Mayo. She was a graduate of Jacksonville State University. Post obtaining her Bachelors Degree, she enlisted in the U.S. Airforce, and was stationed at Wright Patterson Airforce Base. She later married Ayo Ogunduyile on December 3rd, 1980, in Dayton Ohio. Hazel was blessed with the gift of helping people. Her career began in Mental Health services in the U.S. Airforce, she later transitioned to become a Behavior Specialist for the State of Ohio. She ended her career, in retirement, working as a Sales Support Team member in her daughter's State Farm Agency. Hazel lived a Godly life, she had a warm heart, and she interceded whenever a friend or family member was in need. She loved traveling, the beach and studying God's word.
Hazel was preceded in death by her sibling, Barbara Jean Mayo. She is survived by her husband, Ayo Ogunduyile; brothers, Charles (Mary) Mayo, Andrew (Jean) Mayo, Eugene(Cassandra) Mayo; sisters, Helen (Dan) Dansby, Patricia (Gerald) Thomas, Carrie (Anthony) Griggs, Carla (Gregory) Williams; daughters, Omolola (Nikki) Ogunduyile and Kimberly Davenport. Hazel will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Family, friends and others whose lives Hazel touched are invited to her memorial service at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., at 11:00a.m. on Monday September 21st, 2020. A private burial will be held at the Quantico National Cemetery.
