Obituary of Carolyn Wyndham Sifers

                     Obituary for Carolyn (CA) Wyndham Sifers

 

Carolyn a native of South Carolina moved to Washington DC in 1942. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service and the Credit Bureau for several years. She met her husband a US Marine Otto Andrew (Andy) Sifers in front of the White House. They were married after his return from World War II in 1946.

Carolyn and Andy lived in Maryland, Newport News and Arlington before settling in Herndon, Virginia. They purchased their home in 1964.  She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. Carolyn never met a stranger and was very active in the community. She was a member of the Herndon Garden Club and did the floral decorations for Evans Farm Inn at Tyson’s Corner for numerous events.

Carolyn loved the 3-acre homestead at the corner of Park and Grant street and maintained a beautiful home and yard.

She is preceded in death by her husband Otto Andrew (Andy) Sifers, her mother Sadie M Wyndham also of Herndon, her sister Elizabeth Kueny and brother Richard Wyndham.

She leaves her daughter Rebecca Sifers Trainor of Gainesville, VA, son in law Lawrence J Trainor Jr., their two children Justin Andrew Trainor and Lauren Alexandra Trainor Beggs, her granddaughter in law Krysten Smith Trainor and grandson in law Bradley John Beggs along with 6 precious great grand children, Kennedy, Avery, Bryce, Logan, Landon and Mack.

Carolyn also leaves her niece Fran Kueny Simms and nephew Scott Simms of Culpeper, Va

There will be a private graveside service and internment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Dementia and Alzheimer’s fund.

Please make sure we are following all of the Covid procedures at the Cemetary by social distancing and wearing a mask.

We will miss you but we will be together again…
