Obituary of Janet Thompson

Janet Louise Thompson, 73, of Sterling, VA passed away on October 3rd, 2020, surrounded by her family.  Born on February 3rd, 1947, she was the daughter of James and Carrie Thomas, sister to three brothers and two sisters, loving wife to Tommy, wonderful mother to Karen, Kathy, Konnie, Rick and Rick and the best “Nanny” ever to Kurtis, Kevin, Christina and Scooter.

Janet was one of a kind, lighting up every dance floor she and Tommy ever stood on.  She spent almost fifty years proudly working for Fairfax County Public Schools.  She often reminisced about how much she loved those she had worked with, too numerous to list here.  Janet also loved gardening and decorating, as anyone who has ever seen the Thompson household during the holidays will attest.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Adams-Green Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Adams-Green Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Sterling Cemetery.
