Scott MacDonald Ririe, 64, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away on October 3, 2020 in Leesburg, Virginia.

Scott was born in Rockville Centre, NY on August 6, 1956 to the late Elizabeth Henderson Robertson Ririe and Angus MacDonald Ririe. He graduated from Seaford High School on Long Island, NY in 1975. A talented singer, Scott was selected to the prestigious New York State All-Chorus his senior year of high school.

In 1977, while his parents were living in Tehran, Iran, Scott moved to Virginia to be closer to his siblings. After working several years at Pizza Hut and Avis, he brought his “gift for gab” and love of driving to Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) where he worked for 29 years as a Service Representative, Dispatcher and Night Shift Supervisor.

Not surprisingly, three of Scott’s most prized possessions were his vintage Indian motorcycle and two Ford Mustangs. Known for his infectious smile and wacky sense of humor, Scott was a depository of little known facts—including advertising jingles from the 1960s and 1970s—and never shied away from a debate. Later in life he enjoyed country-western dancing, vacationing on cruise ships, and rooting for Penn State’s Nittany Lions.

Scott is survived by his wife, Leigh Heckman Redwine Ririe, of Ashburn, Virginia.  Married later in life, he always said he was picky and was waiting for the right girl. He is also survived by his three sisters; Lynne Hoy (James), Nancy Ririe (Gary Heal), and Jill Ririe (Larry Ekberg); 3 nephews, 1 niece, and 5 grand nephews and nieces.

There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Lutheran Church https://communitylutheran.org , where Leigh sings in the choir, or to your favorite charity in Scott’s honor.
