Obituary of Thomas Edwin Shelton

Thomas Edwin (“Ed”) Shelton, 91, of Great Falls, Virginia passed away on 4 December 2020.  He is survived by his three daughters, Patricia (Julius) of Australia, Diane (John) of Lovettsville, and Susan (Mark) of Paeonian Springs, five grandchildren Brian, Danielle, Kevin (Lauren), Theresa, and Deborah, and one brother, Gary of Manchester, Tennessee.  His childhood years were spent growing up in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.  After serving in the Army at a young age, he moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he met his forever wife, Mary Elizabeth Coznick.  Together they raised their family on a small farm in the little town of Great Falls, Virginia.  He loved working on his farm, which included a variety of animals, especially his beloved chickens.  He had a lifelong career in insurance before his retirement.  Not too long after losing his wife, he spent his last years at the Meadow Glen Assisted Living Facility in Leesburg, Virginia.  A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, 8 December 2020 at Union Cemetery located at 323 North King Street, Leesburg, Virginia 20176.
