I have know Dick since our days in CSOC at the NSA. He was a great Senior Chief and mentor to many people. His legacy will last forever and he will certainly be missed by all of us who came into contact with him through his years of service. Fair winds and following seas shipmate. Rest in Peace. We have the watch.

I was stationed with GRAMPA at Karamsel Turkey in 1966 - 1967. He was a inspiration to me to be the best CTR as I could be. THANKS GRAMPS

My condolences to Mrs. Crothers and other family members. I served with Gramps on the USS Oxford ( AGTR-1). Indeed he was gentle, patient, honorable and brilliant. Gramps taught me to be an analyst. And he gave to me a will to include patience in perseverence, a combination which served me well in later endeavours. I wish I could have met Gramps again after days on the " Ox". We veterans often talk fondly of Gramps .. he gave so much. One great " CT" and man. " Goofy" Art Graham
