Obituary of Margaret Lucille McMullin

Margaret Lucille McMullin passed peacefully in the arms of her daughter and surrounded by her immediate family, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 11:15 a.m., at Sunrise of Reston. Born in Loudoun County, Virginia, she was predeceased by her father, Richard Turner Wortman, her mother, Icie Lucille Wortman, her brothers Edward Paul Wortman, Henry Marshall Wortman, and George Turner Wortman. Also most sorrowfully predeceased by Rodney Lee Fortney, her first born son, and Lomax Fortney, the father of her three children, from whom she was divorced. Mourning her passing are her sisters Mildred Genevive Darne (the late George), Helen Lee Aronson (George), James Richard Wortman (Ruby), Betty Louise Poole (Irvin), Tommy Autrey Wortman (Barbara), and Theordore Roosevelt Wortman. Loving her in life and treasuring her always in memory are her children, son Richard Allen Fortney, daughter Bonnie Lou Rekemeyer (Darryl); her grandchildren, Ryan Todd Mallard, Amanda Jean Esteban (Rafael), and Bradley Jason Fortney; her great-grandchildren, Madison Rachel Esteban, Emylee Esteban and Devon Esteban. Also left to mourn is her very special Goddaughter, Georgii Donahue (Ray). Her many cousins, nieces, and nephews will cherish her memory always. A second marriage to James H. McMullin ended in divorce. The last seven years of her life were spent at Sunrise of Reston and proved to be some of the happiest years of her life. She enjoyed her "Sunrise Family" and the love and care she received from the staff provided her with much comfort. Many dear friendships were bonded and there was no greater joy for her than the daily "sunporch chats". She was blessed to have four private duty aides who became her guardian angels and allowed her to enjoy the highest quality of life to the end. The family will recieve friends on Sunday, March 15th from 2-5pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA, where funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16th at 11am. Interment will immediately follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
