My wife, Linda, and I are ushers at Epiphany. I came to know a John because we both were former US Navy sailors. I enjoyed chatting with him at church, and we smiled at each other’s remembrances of our times as younger men at the Norfolk-Portsmouth Naval base at different times for each of us. But we smiled because all sailors know what it’s like to be one. I liked John’s pickup truck and told him it was a young man’s truck! So, fair winds and following seas, sailor brother.
