Obituary of Lori Ann Olsen

Please share a memory of Lori to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lori Ann Olsen Passed on to Heaven on 15 February 2021 in Herndon, Virginia. Born in Oakland California on August 13, 1951 to her beloved parents, Rachael Difu, and William Difu. Lori was and always will be the most loving Friend, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother and Grandmother, affectionately called Nana by her three adoring grandchildren.

Lori was always the kindest, most caring, and nurturing person you would ever meet. She was a bright light of joy in so many people’s lives. Her smile and her witty sense of humor was infectious. She was always inquisitive and full of good natured sensibility, with a tremendous amount of love to give to all around her. Family was always very important to her.

Lori met her husband Daryl Olsen at De Anza College in Cupertino, California and they were married soon after on June 6, 1971. After Daryl Joined the Airforce they travelled and lived in exotic places like the Philippines before settling back in California after Daryl’s service ended. Their son Paul was born at Scott Airforce Base, Illinois. Their son Kenneth was born a few years later in San Jose California.

Lori was the most supportive and loving wife and mother. Daryl’s work in sales and marketing took the family to many different locations away from their home state of California over the years to include, Connecticut, Virginia, and Minnesota.  Her love for her sons, knew no bounds. She was their fiercest advocate and sage through all of the trials and tribulations through school, sports, and growing up to become strong and independent men. Lori was very active in Paul and Kenneth’s schools, and spent countless hours as team mom and cub scouts leader, not only taking care of her boys but so many other kids. Lori was also close to her own siblings and her many nieces and nephews and helped them along the way as well.

Lori also had a passion for music, art, cooking, and gardening. She was at her happiest in the garden or painting, or baking, listening to Roy Orbison, the Beach Boys, or Tina Turner, especially if loved ones were around to share her laughter and her dancing. Lori never stopped learning. She was an avid reader and would get lost in books. She was always seeking to better her skills and knowledge in every aspect of her life.

Lori touched so many lives and helped so many people become who they are along the way. She will be greatly missed but our solace will be that she is one with Christ and is at peace with her Husband Daryl, Her son Kenneth, and Her mother Rachael who she missed and loved so much. Her memory and her life will live on forever in our Hearts. We love you Momma.
