To Marlene’s daughters and grandchildren, Faith Cutrona, and cousins,
I was saddened to hear of Marlene’s death. I offer my prayers and condolences to all who mourn her loss.
Marlene and I have several connections: I was a freshman at St. Elizabeth’s High School and Marlene was a Sophomore; we both entered the Benedictine Sisters in Ridgely, MD, in the mid1950’s; for several years, Marlene played the organ and I directed the children’s choir at St. Elizabeth Elementary School, Wilmington, DE. After Marlene had married, retired, moved to Centreville, MD, our paths again crossed in Ridgely. Marlene, always ready to volunteer, offered her services to St. Martin’s Barn and the Authors’ Luncheon Committee. Her generosity of spirit, time, and talent were very much appreciated. Then we both went our separate ways, Marlene to Virginia and I to Atchison, Kansas. I was blessed to hear of Marlene’s death from a former classmate of Marlene and a friend to both of us.
May all of you be strengthened through the support of family, friends, and your faith. Also, please ask Marlene to intercede for the needs of you, her loved ones. She will not disappoint you.
