Subayi Kabambi Wa Sendula passed away on Saturday February 27, 2021, two weeks prior to his 93rd birthday, surrounded by his loved ones in his home in Centerville, VA after a long battle with diabetes.
Born on March 13, 1928 in Bena-Piana (Kasai- Oriental) in the Democratic Republic of Congo to Sendula Mwalaba and Mbuaya Marie Wa Ntita. He had 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Mr. Subayi is survived by his wife of 70 years Mrs. Mubombi Suzanne Martine Subayi, his 8 children, 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He spent most of his life traveling around the world with his family as a Diplomat for the Democratic Republic of Congo from 1968-1985. Mr. Subayi strived to provide better opportunities and resources for Congolese citizens. He retired in 1985 and became a Pastor because of his deep love and admiration for Jesus Christ. His ministry was centered on spreading the love and gospel of Jesus Christ. He spent the last 16 years of his life in Maryland and Virginia to remain close to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He had a deep love for Jesus, family, friends, and those in need.
